My Birthday Cake and a Happy 4th

Yes, I made my own birthday cake, and some say that's wrong, but I wouldn't have it any other way.lol! I wanted to try something that I knew would be hard because if it didn't turn out, then so what...it's not like it's for a paying customer. So I decided to make an Alabma Football Helmet, and yes it was hard. I have never carved so much on the cake but it was loads of fun! The facemask was probably the hardest. It's the only thing that's not completly edible. I made it out of wire an then covered it in fondant. If your not familiar with fondant,it's a clay -like type of icing that you can roll out like dough. The options with fondant are endless, but I'm not crazy about the taste, so that's the only part i made fondant (and it's expensive!:( ) The facemask didn't turn out quite like I wanted but I was tired, and it's just my cake...right? Anyway hope you like it, and have a great July 4th!! I think today I might finish watching "The Secrets of the Founding Fathers." Have a wonderful day, and thank God for where you live, though our country is pretty messed up, I wouldn't live anywhere else!!!!!!Happy 4th!

I pretty much owe First Place my Life!

I was looking at pictures on myspace today and saw these photos.OMG I have never put my old and new pictures by each other. I am forever in debt to first place. Unless of course I gain it back then they owe me.LOL. But i plan on that never happening. Here lately I'm really not sure how I've kept it off. I little more often then I would like to admit...i eat cake at work, and cookies, ice cream..... It's just so good and sugary! I will go through spells where I don't want it and I don't want icing, but i acquire the taste once again.Soon! Doing First Place must of just uped my metabolism. Throughout the entire five years I played volleyball I never lost weight. I ate like a horse, but I worked out, and exercised and it did nothing!Too, not too long ago I found out that my thyroid was low, and I believe that makes you gain too. So that medicine has played a part in keeping it off. I was going to ask everyone to burn any fat pictures they have of me,and too take them of your myspace, but I changed my mind, the more I look at them, the more I want to exercise! So keep them up, their good incentive. Hope you have a great day! Also thank you Lisa for sending my Stein Mart cake to BooMama! And thank you BooMama for putting a link of it on your site! LOTS of people saw it!!!!Thank you!!

Workout

I got my workout this morning...not on purpose, but I had a great arm strengthening exercises trying to start the weeed eater. In my defence I have never done this before. I always mowed and daddy always handled that. He wouldn't let me because he said it would mess up my pretty legs!Aww How sweet..I know. I mowed yesterday and decided this morning I would go out and get it done, but I can't start the freakin' thing!!!!!! I did everything I've seen done since Ive never tried before and apparently my week little arms don't have the power it takes.I was in the garage for about thirty min. trying to start it, but it wouldn't budge. I almost pulled a Marty a few times a thought about how far i could throw it..lol...but i kept my composure. I am really weak compared to my dad and have seen him fight with it a many times. So that plan is shot for the day. I do have some washing to do because we are leaving for the beach tomorrow!!WootWoot! I'm so excited, though it is scheduled to rain everyday we are there. If it rains all day, i might cry, but i just want one good day out on the beach!!!!!

Tip: if you are looking for some bathing suits, OLD NAVY had/has them on sale for $13 dollar a piece!!! I know..it great, and if your a one piecer like me you really get a great deal.

Hope you have a great day and if you need to strengthen those arms...try to start a weedeater, it's like the workout that never ends!

Spreading the Gospel...One Mistake Phone call at a time!

Yesterday I heard my phone ring as I was putting some towels in the dryer. I ran up the stairs of the garage to answer and it was my sister. Keep in mind our church here starts at ten so I am home about the time church in Ider gets started. I didn't think of that at the time. I answered...."Hello..Hello....HELLO!!" No answer, but I could hear something in the background that was becoming more clear. It was Luke preaching! It was pretty clear so I kept listening. I finally put it on speaker phone and set it down on the counter while I grilled some chicken, and listened for about 20 min.! The best part was when I called Cina after church. I told her what happened. She said..." I kept hearing something, and I just thought it was the girl beside me. I thought her stomach was growling....I guess it was my chicken grilling or the ice maker!lol.
We have now found a new way to spread the gospel!LOL
I should do this ever week, I felt so at home over the phone!

Painful Art

Hey!Hey! I've been working on an art project for my art history class, and it has turned out to be quite dangerous. It shouldn't be but it is!! It's called Japanese wood block print. You draw your design or whatever you choose and transfer it over to a piece of wood. You then carve out around the picture. After that's done you put ink on the pic. (raised part) and put paper back over it to make a print!!!!Oh my gah.....I am now so appreciative of technology.I am only doing one color. You have to repeat most of this process for every color!I've seen some before, and when I saw it I was like...wow. what a pretty painting....not knowing that it wasn't a painting or how much work was put into it.

Warning: Carving tools may will be sharp!!!

Ya'll, I have cut my myself 3 times!! The first two were not bad, just minor injuries, but the third one was deep and painful! I was carving away and my hand got in the way. I do admit my pain took control over my language and caused me to say a few dirty words. I said..."Hey I'm bleeding everywhere, looking for some help and momma just walks by. She walked back in and said.."Oh gah, you ARE bleeding everywhere!"
Did she think I was lying???
Well, I'm on the road to recovery. I should be ok with plenty of clear liquids and some pain medicine. lol. Since I've been watching HOUSE, my medical knowledge has just become incredible. Really, you wouldn't believe it.
Next is my pepto story, but that's for another day.

Oh! I forgot! Cina's birthday was this passed week, and I figured thas since her husband got two cakes, she should at least get one!!!

Random

I haven't written in forever. School has been crazy busy and life is a little crazy in general.I have had a few cakes lately.

I do have a quick story. We had a little scare with Nala (our dog) yesterday. She's fine now, but she had me worried. I let her out to go the the bathroom yesterday and a little while later someone knocks on the door. I answer it and she says..."is this your dog???" I look out and Nala is in the middle of the road. The lady ran over her leg. First off Nala never gets in the road...well i guess she does, but not usually. I ran out there and get her out of the road, i finally get her fat butt in the house and behind the chair. We get her to the vet later that evening and it's not broken...more like just strained he said. So she's doing fine, just a limp. Oh and I almost forgot. She just had a birthday. Feb. 11th she turned 14!!!She can get her learners permit next year!LOL!!

I guess I would have to make fun.....

I try to be open minded about the different ways people dress and wear their hair, but I have to say, I you ever wear your hair like this I guess I would just let it go and make fun. I made one big so you could see the detail on these things.

I am looking for a new haircut, and was searching for some on google images. To say the least when I ran by one of these pics. I had to click on it. I am oddly fascinated by this and at the same time rollin' in the floor. Is this even possible? Some comments on the website I got them from said "oh, it's gotta be a wig!" Even if it was somebody had to get them like that. What a style. I think it's official, the elephant style is for me! I think it will really show me as a true Bama fan!LOL.

I was at Carrie's blog and saw she was doing a give away. That's sounds so fun! I've got to get with it. Hope you all have a great day. Love you all.

Happy Birthday.....Chelsea????

I have a lot to show you today!!Picture wise.

I have no clue who Chelsea is that turned seven this week, but happy birthday to you. This is the first cake I got to decorate at work. I finished up at work early and ask what I should do next, and "do you want to decorate a cake?" came out of her mouth. I was so excited. Trying to hide it, I casually walked over to the table and picked a cake. I picked the Sponge Bob Cake. I thought I might have some advantage because I used to draw Sponge Bob all the time. I will not let you in on how long it took me to finish this cake, but it was a while. I had never done a cake like this before. There is no icing it, it is all done with a bag. You out line it and then fill it in. What I didn't know is that when you fill it in it tends to cover up the outline. So after that is done you have to go back over the outline. If I new that before I wouldn't have spent so much time on the first go around. That might have shaved some serious time off that cake.

We have a door-bell type thing on the door so when someone comes in up front, we can hear it in the back. Therefore when we go up front we don't know who will be at the other end. When the Sponge Bob cake was picked up, I was the one to check him out. When he told me his name, I cringed. I didn't want to be there when they picked it up.But he liked it so I was happy.

Next,(i feel like I'm writing a paper, using the correct openers for my paragraphs.lol) are cupcakes for a certain little 5 year old I refer to as "Z". Me and her mom made these cupcakes for her to take to Pre-School.

And last but not least....The Alabama Cake. I was excited about doing this one because it makes up for that Auburn cake. LOL. I went to Huntsville Sat. and met my Ider Sunday School class for our Christmas party. It was also close to time for Adam and our teacher, Clay's birthday. My sister hit me up with a cake order that I was very happy to fill.....

I don't know why it's turned like this ....sorry.
I have another I would like to show you , but it will be a while. Keep it on the down low.lol.
